Barry, Marian, a former resident of Athens, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011 in Boston, Massachusetts.
She was born Feb. 9, 1916 in Roseville, Ohio to the late Clark and Hazel Combs. Marian met John Barry in graduate school and they were married in 1946. They lived in a number of cities around the United States. They moved to Athens in 1966. Marian moved to the Boston area in 2005 to be near her son. Surviving are her children, Judith of New York, David and his wife Pat Roberts of Boston, and Elizabeth and her husband Sandy Rabinowitch of Anchorage, AK.; four grandchildren, Ann and Andrew Roberts, and Jessica and Laura Barry; sisters Vicki Selleck and Lucy Hulme; sisters-in-law, Ruth Combs and Margaret Barry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John; sisters Marie Combs and Margaret Mautz; and three brothers, Mark Combs, Bill Combs and Paul Combs.
A memorial service will be held at a later time in Lyndonville, NY.
