Winnie Sue Sears, age 67, Douglas, GA passed away at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Sears was born on February 12, 1944 to the late Marvin and Hester Harper Vaughn in Douglas, GA. Mrs. Sears was a self employed registered nurse and she was a member of the Rocky Pond Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son: Rodney Sears. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 07, 2011 at Rocky Pond Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Lonnie Spikes and Rev. Larry Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the Satilla Memorial Gardens. Survivors include: husband: Errol Sears, Douglas, GA; son: Ryan Hendrix, Valdosta, GA; daughter: Rhonda (Hank) Youngblood, Douglas, GA; brothers: Allen Vaughn, Joe Vaughn and Glen Vaughn; sister: Jettie Mae Griffis; mother in law: Alstine Sears; 3 grandchildren and family friend: Vinicio Salazar. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 06, 2011 at Sims Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
