DIGHTON – Frederick W. Gracia, husband of Loretta M. (Crowninshield) Gracia, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Oct. 2, 2011.
He was 89.
Born in Dighton, he was the son of the late Manuel S. and Lena R. (Rogers) Gracia.
Educated in Dighton schools, he graduated from Dighton High School in 1941, and later attended N.E. Technical Institute.
A U.S. Coast Guard Veteran of WW II, Mr. Gracia was later employed by the Foxboro Co. in East Bridgewater for twenty years, retiring as a production manager in 1985.
He was a communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church and a member of the former VFW Raposa-Knott Post 2094.
Besides his wife of Dighton, he leaves two grandchildren, Rachel Ann Gracia and Adam Ross Gracia, both of Middleboro; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Frederick W. Gracia, Jr. and brother of the late Harold J. Gracia.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, on Wednesday, Oct. 5th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church, North Dighton at 11 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
