Methuen, Ma. – Robert Louis Morel, 79 died October 2, 2011 at the Holy Family Hospital with his family by his side.
Robert L. was born in Lawrence November 21, 1931 the son of Herve and Attala (Boucher) Morel. For many years Mr. Morel had been employed as a computer programmer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Mr. Morel attended St. Ann’s grammar and Central Catholic High School and served his country in the United States Army during Korea prior to his honorable discharge.
Robert L. was a member of the Arnold Greenwood Post # 8349 (VFW) in Methuen, Queen City Chapter of DAV. He was on the board of trustees of the Methuen Senior Center.
Robert was the widower of Beatrice (Letarte) Morel who died this past February 10, 2011 after many wonderful years of marriage. Survivors include his daughter Celeste and her husband David Quain of Merrimack, NH, 3 grandchildren Jocelyn Thompson and her husband Christopher, Michelle Miller and her husband Garrett, and Victoria Quain, 2 greatgrandchildren Brendan and Zachary Thompson and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
Friends will be warmly received on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, Ma.
