Herbert Hanson, Jr., 71, of Londonderry, NH died Thursday September 29, 2011 at the Hanover Hill Healthcare in Manchester, NH. Mr. Hanson was born on December 5, 1939 in Boston, MA a son of the late Herbert and Gertrude (Andersen) Hanson, Sr. He was a 1958 graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry and was a lifelong resident of Londonderry. He was employed for the Department of the Air Force, assigned to the Pentagon, but was at different locations throughout his 32 years. He retired in 1992 while on a team working to close Air Force bases. He enjoyed restoring his 1960’s tractors and using them to build and expand his yard.
He is survived by one son, Ryan H. Hanson of Fairhaven, MA, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends.
Following cremation, a memorial service was held on Sunday October 16, 2011 at 2:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry.
