Thomas J. Meehan, age 63
Retired Verizon Repairman

TEWKSBURY: Thomas J. Meehan, age 63, a Tewksbury resident for 27 years, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011.
He was the beloved husband of Mary A. (O'Connor) Meehan, with whom he celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on July 6, 2011.
Born in Woburn on June 28, 1948, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Florence (Ray) Meehan.
Tom was raised in Woburn and Stoneham and graduated from Stoneham High School.
Following graduation, he served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded several decorations for his military service including the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Marksman M-14 Badge.
Prior to his retirement in August 2002, he was employed for 32 years as a Repairman for the Verizon Company.
Tom was a die-hard Boston Red Sox Fan and a proud member of Red Sox Nation.
In addition, he also enjoyed following the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots and was considered by many to be a "Good Luck Charm" for his beloved Boston sports teams.
Tom loved spending time outdoors, cooking his famous Grampa's meatballs, traveling with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren.
Tom was the father of the late Sheryl Ann Meehan and is survived by his children, Lori Ann Callahan and her husband Rick of Merrimack, NH, Colleen J. Shanafelt and her husband Travis of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Thomas J. Meehan, Jr. and his wife Kathy of American Fork, Utah and Ed Peek of Nashua, NH; nine grandchildren, Dylan, Delaney and Cassidy Callahan, Landon Shanafelt, Jackson, Sam, Scout, Hannah and "Bobo" Meehan; his brother, James Meehan and his late wife Norma Meehan of Fitchburg; also several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service celebrating Tom's life on Wednesday, October 5th at 3:00 p.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 70 Concord Road, Billerica, MA. Following the Memorial Service all are invited to join with the family for fellowship and refreshment at the church. Kindly Omit Flowers.
