BEVERLY: Charles Holmes, 82, died unexpectedly, Friday, September 9, 2011 in the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He was the husband of the late Antoinette “Toni” (Duprey) Holmes who died in May of 2008.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Kathleen A. Holmes. He had resided in Beverly for many years before moving to Jupiter, Florida in 1991. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Holmes was employed for H. P. Hood & Sons in Charlestown for many years before retiring in 1989. He was also a life member of the Beverly Lodge of Elks #1309.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Wendy Holmes of Center Conway, NH; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Wayne Philpot of Beverly; four grandchildren, Tara Morris and her husband, Christopher and Patrick Grant all of Beverly, Heidi Strout of Poland, Maine and Lani Holmes of North Conway, NH; three great-grandchildren, Caleb and Caiden Strout both of Poland, ME and Grayson Smith of North Conway, NH and several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
A memorial service for Charlie will be held on Saturday, October 8th in the North Beverly Cemetery, Cabot St., (Rt. 97) Beverly at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
