SPRINGFIELD — Joseph Hampson III, age 63 years, of Fairhaven, died unexpectedly in Springfield on Wednesday September 28, 2011.
Born in New Bedford, his parents were the late Joseph Hampson II and Henriette M. (Talbot) Hampson. He was a graduate of Fairhaven High School Class of 1966 and an active communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fairhaven.
A radio and TV technician, he was an avid amateur radio enthusiast, a member of the CD Club, and was formerly employed at Richie's Radio in North Dartmouth. Joseph was also active as an EMT with the Acushnet Ambulance Service.
He loved roller skating, flying, visits to New Hampshire and his three cats.
His survivors are cousins, Linda Wordell, Jeffrey Talbot, Patricia Lopes and Pamela Talbot.
Visitation will take place on Monday from 4-7 P.M., in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford. His service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 A.M., followed by burial in the family plot at St. Mary's Cemetery.
