Crowley, Linda J., of Attleboro, formerly of Marshfield, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on September 28, at the age of 7l. Beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Crowley, Sr. Loving mother of H. Patrick Crowley of Stratham, NH, Dennis M. Crowley of Wareham, Sharon A. McManus of Whitman, Joseph P. Crowley, Jr. of Osterville, Gregory S. Crowley of Marshfield, Robert J. Crowley of Cambridge and the late William J. Crowley. Dear grandmother of l0 grandchildren.
Linda was born in Stoneham and raised in Melrose, but life for Linda really took off when she met the love of her life, Joe Crowley. They had a large family and settled in Marshfield. She lost Joe when she was only twenty-nine years old, but she kept his memory alive for her children for the following forty-three years. Linda never remarried, and she never stopped telling her kids stories about her “Joe” and their “daddy.” After Joe’s death, Linda worked two jobs to support her family. While working and raising seven children alone, she went to night school and received her High School Diploma from Marshfield High School (class of 1979) at the age of thirty-nine. She worked at Foxborough Company and Bradlees for many years. She went on to work for Saraf Insurance Agency until her retirement.
She loved “classic” country music and became an avid line dancer. She was an outstanding cook and baker who loved to bring enormous batches of her famous cookies and muffins to people whenever she visited. Everyone told her to sell what she baked, but to her, it was not about business – it was a labor of love. Linda was the best friend a dog could ever have – especially her late “babies,” Bliss and Rumor. Linda will be remembered as a person of intense loyalty to those she loved -- her children first and foremost -- but also her many longtime, close friends. Her most loyal and devoted friend, Marcia Sherman, was with her to the end. Linda was a true original, and her memory will be cherished by her family and friends forever.

A private family interment will be in the Winslow Cemetery, Marshfield.
