New Bedford – Emily (Jardin) Souza, 73, of New Bedford, died Wednesday, February 25, 2004, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the former wife of Dean D. Souza of New Bedford. Mrs. Souza was the mother of Stephen and Lawrence Souza both of New Bedford and Mark Souza of S. Dartmouth, grandmother of Craig, Christine and Shauna B. Souza. She was the sister of Edward Arsenault of Fairhaven, Abel G. Jardin of New Bedford and Thomas John Arsenault of St. Lucie, Fla.. Mrs. Dutra also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren , as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Souza was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Abel and Emily (Esterio) Jardin.
Her funeral will be Monday, March 1, 2004, from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 A.M. at St. James Church, County St., New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours will be Sunday, February 29, 2004 from 7 – 9 P.M.
