Obituary

Normand P. Grenon, 84, of New Bedford died September 29, 2011 at Sacred Heart Home after a period of declining health.
He was the husband of Eleanor (Perkins) Grenon.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Adolph and Rose (Jodoin) Grenon, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Grenon was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
He was formerly employed as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for over 38 years until his retirement. He later worked at Bishop Stang High School.
Mr. Grenon enjoyed, golf, watching sports, and coaching youth sports.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a former member of the Whaling City Golf Course and enjoyed golfing in Naples, FL.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Thomas Grenon and his husband William Bunce of Stoughton, MA; 2 daughters, Carol Wood and her husband Doug of Marlboro, MA and Anne Sampaio and her husband Bill of Tiverton, RI; 6 grandchildren, Leah Wood, Geoffrey Sampaio, Andrew Sampaio, Michael Bunce-Grenon, Joseph Bunce-Grenon and David Bunce-Grenon; several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Jacqueline Grenon Cross.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 3rd at 9:45 AM in St. Julie Billiart Church. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, October 2nd from 3-6 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Nurse and Hospice Care, P.O. Box 751, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
