Richard S. Supczak, 78, of New Bedford died September 28, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Stanley F. and Stella (Papiernik) Supczak, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
Mr. Supczak served in the U.S. Navy Seabees for over 20 years and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
He enjoyed gardening, model building, Flea Markets and collectibles.
Survivors include a brother, Edward Supczak of New Bedford; a sister, Felicia Supczak Neat of Elkton, MD; 2 nieces, Joanne Beatriz and her husband Daniel and Susan Halle, all of New Bedford; 2 nephews, Michael Supczak and his wife Christine of New Bedford and Anthony Kaczmarek of Lincoln, RI; several great-nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Alice Kaczmarek.
His Funeral Services will be private.
