Allen Linwood Dodd, 45, of 166 Lynndale Drive, died Monday, September 26, 2011 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born on September 30, 1965 at Danville Regional Medical Center, son of Melvin Wade Dodd and Gracie Peavy Dodd of 166 Lynndale Drive. He is survived by his wife, Lea Cadle Dodd of High Point, NC.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Austin Wade Dodd of High Point, NC and Joshua Michael Tate, a student at Campbell University at Buies Creek, NC. He was predeceased by two brothers, Gary Wade Dodd and Glenn Fulton Dodd.
Allen graduated from George Washington High School. He worked for over 17 years as the head technician at Sandy Ridge Golf Course in High Point, NC. He spent most of his life working on all different kinds of machinery, which he loved very much. But not near as much as his love of being a son, father, husband and friend to many. To him there was no stranger in this world. He could go up to anyone and strike up a conversation on anything.
Funeral services for Mr. Dodd will be held Friday, September 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Chappelle officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Barker Funeral Home Chapel one hour prior to the service.
