LEONE, Francis Esq. At 90, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2011. Born on May 26, 1921 in San Donato, Italy to Gerardo and Loreta Leone. Frank came to the US as a ten year old and lived with his family in Nonantum (Newton). He attended Newton Public Schools, Northeastern University, and graduated from Northeastern Law School in 1950. Frank served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 3187th Signal Service Battalion (Rambler) in Europe. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lottie; his second wife Ellen; and his granddaughter Sara Leone. Frank lived in Needham, MA for over fifty years. Following law school, he joined the law firm Ficksman & Conley and worked as a litigator for over 40 years at the same firm becoming a senior partner. He was an active member of the MA Bar Association and Justinian Law Society.
In his later years, Frank enjoyed winters at Marco Island, FL and summers at Marstons Mills, Cape Cod. His stories, poetry and humor will be missed by many. He leaves his children; Robert and his wife Carol of Edgecomb, ME, Carl and his wife Emily of Canton, MA, and Nina and her husband Paul Sullivan of Norwood, MA. His grandchildren, Lindsay, Virginia, Robert, Brittany and Carolyn. His siblings, brother Paul and Beverly Leone of Norwell MA, his sister Camella and Robert Davis of Hopkinton, MA and sister Rita and James Dempsey of Waltham, MA and predeceased by his brother Tony and his wife Rita Leone.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave. (Exit 19B off 128) NEEDHAM, Saturday October 1st at 9AM. Funeral Mass in St. Bartholomew Church, Needham at 10AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Friday September 30th from 4-8PM. Internment immediately following at St Mary Cemetery, Needham, MA.
