Helen Souza, age 55, of Fall River, passed away Sep. 26, 2011 at home with her loving family around her, after a bout with cancer. She was the daughter of Mathilda ‘Tillie” (Correia) Souza and the late Gabriel Souza Sr. Helen had worked in the lunch program for the Fall River Public Schools and previously for Essex Mfg. Co. She was a parishioner of St. Michael Church and enjoyed playing bingo and taking trips to the Connecticut Casinos.
Besides her mother of Fall River, she is survived by her brother: Gabriel Souza Jr. of Fall River, sister in law: Marlene P. Souza, niece: Angela M. Souza, nephew: Adam M. Souza, many aunts, uncles, & cousins. Helen was also the twin sister of the late Thomas J. Souza.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on FRIDAY here at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church, Essex St. at 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours THURSDAY 4-8 P.M.
