Obituary

Coffin, Ronald Edward "Buzz", age 75, of Marshfield and Nantucket passed away at his home on September 23, after a long and repeated battle with cancer. He passed away with his two daughters holding his hands. Ronald showed strength and love right up until his last days. Born and raised on Nantucket with his older sister Barbie. He worked with his father, Roland Coffin for the family business of trash removal. Growing up on the island were some of Ronalds' most treasured memories. Upon graduation from Nantucket High School in 1954 he enlisted in the Air Force and served for four years during the Korean War being honorably discharged in 1958. He was a proud and honored veteran. Ronald was a retired Airplane Mechanic having served for more then 38 years with Eastern Airlines, Trump Shuttle and US Airway. He always lived his life with a moral compass, random acts of kindness were daily for him. It was important for him to live an honest life and set a good example for his children. He never stopped giving, helping and supporting his family. Ronald was an antique car enthusiast, owning many in his lifetime. He enjoyed restoring and showing his classic 1963 Falcon Sprint. Ronald loved his family and was deeply devoted to his wife, daughters and many grandchildren. His family is deeply grateful for the privilege of having him in their lives, feeling blessed for so many years of his unconditional love, young at heart personality and witty sense of humor. Always very much an animal lover and advocate, he shared his home and love with many dogs, his most beloved dog being Homer. Ronald donated to the MSPCA in hopes to make a difference.
