Daniel B. Scotti, 89, of Chatham Circle, Warwick died Friday in the VA Medical Center, Providence; surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Doris M. (Magnan) Scotti. They would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on October 3rd.
Born in Providence, a son of the late John and Concetta (Zabbo) Scotti, he was a US Navy WWII veteran. He served his country proudly in the Battle of Anzio and in the African, European and Pacific theatres. He was a graduate of Bryant College, class of 1943.
He was a buyer for the former Shepard’s Department Store and Apex, retiring in 1989.
Besides his wife he leaves his children, Daniel B. Scotti, Jr. of Taunton, MA,Nancy Norcia of Wakefield, Denise Snee of La Plata, MD, Joanne Leach of East Greenwich and Lisa Scotti-Johnson of Johnston, 8 grandchildren: Daniel, Katherine, JD, Sarah, Chelsea, Jordan, Juliana, and Mallory and 2 great-grandchildren, Conner and Jacob. He was the brother of the late Lucy Andrews, Rose Pollitt, Carol Guiragos and William, Jack ,Frank and JoAnna Scotti.
His Funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Tuesday 5-8pm.
