HEIGHTON, Clark I. “Poofy” Jr. of Winthrop, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends on September 22, 2011. He was 68. He was the husband of 33 years to Mary Lou (Riley) Heighton. Born June 21, 1943, in Boston, he was the son of the late Clark I. and Lillian (VanBuskirk) Heighton Sr. Devoted father of Clark Lloyd Heighton of Winthrop, Brenda Poirier and her husband John of Everett, Michelle Hall and her husband Chris of Winthrop, and Melonie Nelson and her husband Peter of Everett. Dear sister to Sheila DeNicola and her husband Robert of Revere. Adored “Bumpy” to Joseph, Kaitlyn and Robert Poirier, Sarah and Jessica Nelson, Willow Hall, and the late Krystyl Poirier. Great-grandfather to Jayden Bagley. “Daddy” to his cat Datzie. A Funeral Service will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP, on Thurs, Sept. 29, at 10:30am. Following the Service, a Funeral Procession will proceed down to the Winthrop Landing for a brief moment of silence in memory of Poofy. Visiting hours are Weds. only 4-8pm. Poofy retired in 2007, as a Maintenance Worker in the hotel industry.
