
WORCESTER-Wilfred R. Pichette, 82, of Worcester, died Saturday, September 24th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Maureen A. (Mansfield) Pichette; a daughter, Sharon M. Bouvier and her husband Keith of Oxford; two grandchildren, Alyssa Ryder of Westford and Matthew Bouvier of Oxford; a brother, Raymond Pichette and his wife Irene of Dudley; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by three brothers and a sister, Charles, Edward, and Robert Pichette and Irene Dube.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Charles and Lena (Chalifoux) Pichette and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. Mr. Pichette was a Senior Custodian for the City of Worcester School Department at Worcester Boys Trade School and later at Worcester Industrial Technical Institute, retiring in 1994. He also worked part time at General Spring Company and had previously worked at Wickwire Spencer Steel Company. Wilfred was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Church.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Rose Monahan Hospice Home for the kindness and compassion they provided to Wilfred, and a special thank you to Sr. Ann Marshall for the friendship she provided during this difficult time.
The funeral is Tuesday, September 27th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, September 26th from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
