Sigrid Porter, 70 of Greenbrier, TN died at NorthCrest Medical Center, Friday, September 23, 2011.
She was born in Pforzheim, Germany, July 17, 1941 the daughter of Wilhelm Schaefer and Anna Schollenberger Schaefer.
She was a billing clerk for John H. Harland, Co, before retiring in 1996. She was a member of Greenbrier United Methodist Church, "The Girls" Bunko Group, Happy Times Group at Greenbrier Methodist Church and the YMCA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and her grandson John Robert Stewart, Jr.
Sigrid is survived by her husband George Stanley Porter of Greenbrier, TN, one son, David Stanley Porter(Brenda) of Springfield,TN, three daughters, Nanzy Stewart(John)of Prairieville,LA, Cindy L. Porter of Nashville,TN, and Julia Woodard(Woody) Satellite Beach, FL, one brother, Dieter Schaefer of Germany and two grandchildren, Michael and Andy Woodard of Satellite Beach, FL.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM,Monday September 26, 2011 at Austin Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier Chapel with Pastor Duane Cowan officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 PM until the hour of service at the Greenbrier Chapel.
