Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Gertrude L. “Trudy” (Perry) Gleason, 68, of 40 Bass Avenue, died Thursday morning, September 22, 2011 in the Kindred Hospital, Peabody following a brief illness. She was the wife of Charles B. Gleason.
Born in Gloucester on February 4, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Pearl G. (Haraden) Perry. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1961.
Also a graduate of the Wilfred Beauty Academy, she was employed at the former Pierre Marcelle Salon on Newbury Street, Boston and during the summers in Manchester-by-the-Sea.
She later was employed in the textile industry as a seamstress at M & L, Strong Leather Products and Mighty Mac Manufacturing.
As a youth, she was a member of the Rainbow Girls. Trudy enjoyed knitting and sewing and was a wonderful cook. Her family was her pride and joy.
In addition to her husband of forty-four years, she is survived by her daughter, Pamela F. Gleason; son, Charles B. Gleason, Jr.; a brother, Adrian L., husband of Judith Perry; a sister, Edith L., wife of Fred Moore; a brother-in-law, Herbert Gleason; three sisters-in-law, Judy Krupski, Mary Lou Gleason, Ruth Merrick; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon in the Beechbrook Cemetery at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
