GLOUCESTER: Thomas Miles Lott left us on September 21 at the young age of 58. Tom was born on July 9, 1953 to G. Robert and Marilyn (Lynn) Lott in Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his father, fondly known as Great Bear.
Tom graduated from East High School and the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Tom then pursued a career in Investment Banking in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City and Boston. Tom found his greatest fulfillment in his final career which was as a director in a Group Home in Andover, Mass. He was able to transfer his love of life and kind spirit to a group of adult men who love him and will miss him. Tom remained a proud member of the Cape Ann Sportsman’s Club along with his sons.
Surviving Tom are the lights of his life, Beth, his wife of 27 years, and his beloved sons Miles, Max and Graham. Also surviving are his sister Linda Louise (Grant) Ashley, sister-in-law Laurie (Wilhelm) Kohl, nieces Megan and Amanda and nephews Jason and Peter. Tom was a great believer in family, and showed us a joy and gratitude for life that will never be forgotten. Tom always told us, “Love is my religion” and that is how he lived his life.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Broadway, Rockport at one p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Lott Family Trust which has been established to provide educational funds for Tom and Beth’s children. Checks may be made payable to the Trust and mailed to PO Box 760, Rockport, MA 01966. Arrangements are under the direction of the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester.
