Carolyn B. Sujdak, 98Store Proprietor andPhilanthropist
WEBSTER –Carolyn B. Sujdak, known and loved as “Carrie,” died Wednesday, February 25, in Radius Healthcare of Southbridge.
She was born in Webster, daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret B. (Krzemien) Sujdak, and had been a resident there for most of her life. Miss Sujdak was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters.
She leaves many nieces and nephews: William T. Sujdak of Sturbridge, Jane L. Molina of Boylston, John A. Sujdak of Dudley, Thomas Sujdak of Mashpee, Barbara Thomas of Thompson, CT, and Paul Sujdak of Webster, as well as great nephews and a great niece.
She owned and operated “The Louise Shop,” a woman’s clothes boutique in Webster for 25 years. Prior to this endeavor, as a cosmetologist, she owned and operated “The Beauty Box” that was located in the Park Building in Worcester. Hard-working and generous, she was well known for her “random acts of kindness” and always found a way to help the many churches and charities throughout the Webster-Dudley area. Devoted to her family and to her community, she always said that she was happiest “giving to others.”
Miss Sujdak was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica.. She also belonged to the New England Apparel Association as well as the Pope John Paul II Foundation of New England. Her interests included needle point and travel, the latter of which she enjoyed throughout her life.
The funeral will be held Friday, February 27, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery. A calling period will be from 8:30 to 9:30 Friday morning in the funeral home.
