Obituary

William G. “Bill”, “Bish” McCart, 86, of Natick passed away on September 21, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie H. (Mahoney) McCart who passed away in 2006 and with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.
Born in Boston, son of the late William J. and Mary (Costello) McCart, Mr. McCart was raised in Jamaica Plain where he attended St. Thomas Aquinas School and graduated from Commerce High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on December 14, 1943 and served honorably as a Radio Gunner in the Pacific Area during WWII. After being honorably discharged on June 26, 1946, Mr. McCart began his career with the New England Telephone Company. During his 44 years of dedicated service he had numerous positions retiring as a Right Of Way Agent in December, 1987. A dedicated family man, Mr. McCart truly enjoyed coaching various sports teams and also following all of the activities that his grandchildren participated in. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the New England Telephone Company Metro Twi Golf League and the St. Zepherin’s Golf League. He was an active member of St. Zepherin’s Church in Wayland where he participated in numerous activities and was a member of several committees. Mr. McCart truly enjoyed getting together with numerous friends each morning for their “coffee club” gathering.
He was the devoted father of Kathleen Marie Russo and her husband Michael of Medway, William J. McCart and his wife Gina of Medford, and Maureen Ann Bourque and her husband Marc of Medway; cherished grandfather of Samantha Russo, Jennifer Russo, Julia McCart, Virginia McCart, Victoria McCart, Zachary Bourque, and Nicole Bourque; and dear brother of the late James McCart, Virginia Turner, and Frances Pasco. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Mr. McCart’s funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) NATICK on Sat. Sept. 24, 2011 at 9:00 AM to be followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in the Parish of the Good Shepherd at St. Zepherin’s Church, 99 Main ST. (Rt. 27) Wayland at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, S. Natick. Visiting hours will be held on Fri. Sept. 23 from 4-8 PM.
