Bridgewater – John T. Gleason 69, died unexpectedly Tuesday September 20. He was the beloved husband of Geraldine (Curran) Gleason.
Born and raised in Cambridge he was the son of the late John J. and Theresa (Lapore) Gleason and a graduate of Rindge Technical High School of Cambridge, and went on to earn an Associates Degree in business from Newbury College.
John was a proud veteran of the US Navy having served from 1961-1963, and transferring to the Navel Reserves until 1965.
He had worked many years at home improvements centers including the former Grossman’s and more recently for Home Depot.
In addition to his beloved wife Geraldine he is survived by his two loving children, his four grandchildren Staci and Nicole Gleason and Samantha and Alexander Nunes, and his sister Maryanne Clark of Reading. He was the brother-in-law of Paula and Roger Alley of Georgia. He will also be remembered with affection by many cousins and friends. We love and miss you…
His services will be held Monday September 26 at 9:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow at 12:45 PM in the MA VA Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be held Sunday September 25 from 4-8 PM.
