West Falmouth: Bettylou (Bolster) Schwartz, 83, died peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2011 in West Falmouth following a period of declining health.
She was born in Rutland, Vermont on February 14, 1928 the daughter of the late Harold Earl Bolster and Mary Hubbard (Martin) Bolster.
Bettylou is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years Everett Schwartz, Jr. of West Falmouth formerly of Weston. She was the devoted mother of Jay M. Schwartz and his wife Margaret of Lunenburg and Everett A. Schwartz and his wife Cathy of Westminster. Cherished grandmother of Lacey T. Schwartz of Rehoboth and Tyler B. Schwartz of Weston. She is also survived by her twin sister Sallyann B. Studley of Bourne and one niece.
Bettylou spent her earlier years in Rutland, Vermont and moved to Weston at the age of 12 and was a longtime resident before she and her husband Everett retired to West Falmouth in 1983. She was a graduate of Weston High School and from LaSalle Junior College in Newton. For many years she was associated in the sales department as a supervisor for Chandlers Women’s Clothing Store in Belmont. For several years she was associated with Arrowhead Gardens in Wayland. Bettylou loved flowers and gardening at both her residence in Weston and in West Falmouth. She was the former Past President of the Weston Garden Club from 1973 until 1975 and was a member of the Garden Federation of Massachusetts. She loved to spend summers with her family in Wareham sailing and boating and more recently in West Falmouth. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister to her family and will be greatly missed by all the lives that she touched.
At the request of her family there will be no funeral home visitations. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11:00 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 320 Boston Post Rd (Rte 20), Weston.
Interment will follow in the Schwartz family lot in Linwood Cemetery in Weston.
