BEVERLY: Peter Servizio, 91, died September 19, 2011 at the Radius Healthcare Center in Danvers. He was the loving husband of Anna (Tropeano) Servizio with whom he shared sixty-two years of marriage.
Born in Ponte Corvo, Italy on February 20, 1920, he was the son of the late Paul and Natalina (Turchetta) Servizio. Peter has been a resident of Beverly since the age of ten. He attended Beverly Public Schools and was a graduate of Beverly High School.
Peter was employed as a custodian for several years at Beverly High School before retiring in 1977. He was previously employed at A.C. Lawrence Leather Company in Peabody for many years. He was a member of the Italian Community Club. An accomplished musician, he enjoyed playing the violin, guitar, accordion and mandolin at family events with his brothers. In his spare time, Peter enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul Servizio and Patty Pendexter of Lynn; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Richard Silva of Beverly; three grandsons, Richard Silva of Tampa, FL, Christopher Silva of Beverly and Andrew Servizio of Lynn; two sisters, Mary, wife of Al Latini and Catherine, wife of the late William McLean; two brothers, Joseph, husband of Sylvia Servizio and Bruno, husband of Grace Servizio all of Beverly and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held on Friday morning in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
