Maxine A. (Chamberland) Degre 57, of Manville Rd. died Monday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of Rene E. Degre. Born in Hartford, CT she was the daughter of Maximin Chamberland of Woonsocket and the late Phyllis (Garland) Chamberland. Maxine was a driver for the Tellstone Bus Co. for over five years retiring in 2002. She enjoyed knitting, bingo, traveling and attending Pow Wows. Maxine also loved Tweety Bird and butterflies.
Besides her husband and father she is survived by a son Christopher Michael George of Uxbrige, MA, five daughters, Tammey and Lisa George both of East Providence, Sherry, Amy Lynn, and Kelsey George all of Woonsocket, five brothers, Kenny Chamberland of ME, Robert Chamberland of Norton, MA, Dennis Kershaw of Germany, Gary Chamberland of FL, and Gerald "Jerry" Chamberland of Woonsocket, eight sisters, Barbara Belanger and Denise LaFleur both of Burrillville, Jeannette Forcier of NV, Judith Beauchemin, and Rose Beaudoin and Vivian Deluze all of Woonsocket, Stella Sanders of FL, and Tina Chamberland of NY, sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Mary, Paula, and Thomas Chamberland.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Service at 10:00 AM in St. Ann Arts and Cultural Center, Cumberland St. Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8 PM. in lieu of flowers donations to the American Lung Assoc. of RI, 260 West Exchange St. Suite 102B, Providence, RI 02903-1000 in her memory would be appreciated.
