Gerard P. Lupien, 75, of Central Avenue, Johnston, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Hospice Inpatient Center. He was the husband of Janice L. (Viens) Lupien.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Marie (Bourque) Lupien. He had lived in Johnston for four years and he had previously lived in North Providence.
He was an electronic technician and Chief of Communications for Associated Press before retiring and had also served in the Air Force during Korea.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Michele Lupien of West Greenwich, Janice Russell and Denise Doura both of Johnston, Donna Gafner of Florida and Maureen Botelho of Riverside, his twelve grandchildren, a great grandson, his siblings, Cecil Provost, Jeanne Laprade, and Hervey Lupien. He was the brother of the late Leo Lupien, Alice Letch and Annette Conlon.
Relatives and friends are invited to his committal service with Military Honors to be held on Thursday at 11:30am St. Ann’s Cemetery Chapel, Cranston. Visitating hours are respectfully omitted.
