Elaine F. Marochino, age 62, of Brockton died suddenly September 18, 2011 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital following a brief illness. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Sabino N. and Caroline E. (Ricci) Marochino. Elaine was a 1970 graduate of Bridgewater State College where she received her Bachelors degree in Education and Cambridge College where she received her Master of Arts degree in Education. She taught in various Brockton Elementary Schools for 36 years, with an emphasis on helping children with reading difficulties. In her free time Elaine enjoyed spending time with animals and for many years she served as secretary of the Hockamock Kennel Club. She also enjoyed painting with watercolors, was an avid reader and loved good music and fine art.
She is survived by her brother Robert F. Marochino of Brockton, a sister Joan M. Dion and her husband Stephen A. of Raynham, an aunt Edith Gennaco of Brockton, an uncle James M. Marochino of Arizona, and two godsons James P. Jones of Florida and Michael Iolli of Lakeville. Elaine also leaves many close cousins and friends and her beloved pet Boomer.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday 5-8pm. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home Saturday at 8am for a funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
