Obituary

Carmen A. Gentile, a long-time Medford resident died peacefully in the company of his loving family. He was 88. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, Carmen was the son of the late Louis and Josephine (Nutile) Gentile and stepson of the late Vincenzo Troisi. Carmen served in the Army Air Force during World War II. After the war he settled in Medford. He worked as a printer for the City of Boston until his retirement. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren especially.

The beloved husband of the late Florence (Donnaruma), Carmen leaves his children: Dona Georgitis and her husband Stuart of West Newbury, Janis Popkin and her husband Charles of Chelmsford. He was a loving grandfather to Michael, David and his wife Heather, Kristina, Tracy and her husband Domenic, Sarah, William, Mary, Samuel and a loving great-grandfather to Benjamin, Lindsey, Anthony and Alexandria. He was the brother of Pasquale Troisi, Olga Hoar, the late Grace Castro and Edith Corrado. He was a dear brother-in-law to John Castro.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family Saturday morning, September 24th from 9 thru 10:30 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
