Anne (Spinale) Summa, a long-time Medford resident, died Sunday morning at the Winchester Nursing Center. She was 85.
Anne was born and raised in Boston’s West End and was the daughter of the late John and the late Mary (DiMare) Spinale. A Medford resident for nearly 70 years, Anne was devoted to her family. She enjoyed traveling and bringing the family on many trips to York Beach. She delighted in her grandchildren and loved being a big part of their lives. She also enjoyed good times with her friends whether shopping or going to have her hair and nails done. She will be missed by those who knew her.
The beloved wife of the late Mario F. Summa, Anne leaves her devoted children: John Summa and his wife Catherine of Medford, Christine Christie and her husband Kevin of Tewksbury. She was a loving grandmother to Melissa, Michael, Rachel and a loving great-grandmother to John Michael and Matthew James. She also leaves her dear sister Frances Petto and is predeceased by her late brother Frank Spinale.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Roslindale.
