Obituary

Florence B. Cawley, 87, of Stoneham died February 24, 2004 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital after a brief illness.

She was the wife of the late James A. Cawley and daughter of the late Richard Thurston Ball and Elizabeth (Hodges) Ball.

Mrs. Cawley was born in New Bedford and lived in New Bedford most of her life before moving to her daughter's home in Stoneham 6 years ago.

She was a communicant of St. James Church.

Mrs. Cawley was formerly employed as a private duty nurse, with the New Bedford Board of Health and later with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Social Services.

She was a graduate of Holy Family High School, class of 1934 and St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1938.

Survivors include a son, James Cawley of Albany, NY; 2 daughters, Virginia Whooley, and her husband David, of Stoneham, MA and Anne Higgins, and her husband Robert, of Framingham, MA; a brother, Francis Ball, and his wife Elaine, of New Bedford; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 niece.

She was the sister of the late AnnaMay Ball and Richard L. Ball.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. James ChurchFriday, February 27th at 12 Noon.

Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordFriday, February 27th from 9:30 - 11:30 AM.

Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
