Russell F. Green, 70, of Clayton, NC died Saturday September 17, 2011 at his home. Mr. Green was born in Medford, MA on February 14, 1941, a son of the late Russell F. and Hazel (Wright) Green. He had resided in Clayton for the past three years, formerly living in Derry, NH. Mr. Green retired from Northrop-Grumman where he worked as an engineer. He was a former member of the American Legion Lester Chase Post #9 in Derry and the Sons of the American Legion in Hawthorne, CA. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was also a member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Donah) Green of Clayton, three daughters, Barbara Malagodi of Saugus, MA, Theresa Cayler of Virginia Beach, VA, Patricia Green of Carson, CA, four step-children, Cheryl Leyland of Danbury, NH, Brian Coombs, Ron Coombs, and Jeff Coombs all of Derry, four grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, two brothers, Arthur Green and his wife Susan of Clayton, and William Green of Derry, one sister, Nancy Green of Littleton, MA, also several nieces. He was predeceased by his daughter, Carol Pollard.
Calling hours were held on Thursday September 22, 2011 from 4 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice program of one’s choice.
