Mrs. Ruth Solimene, age 85 of Medford died Saturday in the Lahey Clinic Medical Center Burlington. She was the beloved wife of Eugene Solimene with whom she shared more than 65 years of Marriage. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Edna (Locke) Belbin. She was raised in Arlington but spent many years in Cambridge. She attended Cambridge Latin High and in earlier years worked as an assembler in an electronics firm. Her one great passion was bowling. She and her husband were members of a Thursday night bowling team in Malden. She also enjoyed simple pleasures like puzzles, crosswords, and shopping. She liked to be near the ocean, she and her husband would often drive to the beach to watch the waves. In addition to her husband she leaves a daughter Carol Ann Ortiz of Malden, two sons: Eugene F. Solimene of Somerville, Stephen R. Solimene and his wife Maria of Arlington and is the mother of the late Paul M. Solimene and Janet R. Downing. She was the proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is the sister of David Belbin and his wife Mary of Nashua NH. Sister of the late Lillian, Sonny, Ralph and Whitney Belbin, Dolly Peterson, Margaret Carpinella, Marion Erickson and Laura Jewers. A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford on Wednesday at 11: 00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm. Burial will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
