TAUNTON – Manuel P. Silveira, husband of the late Adelina (Andrade) Silveira, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Sept. 16, 2011.
He was 72.
Born in Cedros, Faial, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel F. and Teresa A. (Pereira) Silveira.
He moved to this country in 1961 and made Taunton his home.
A press operator for over thirty years, Mr. Silveira was employed by the former Poole Silver Co. of Taunton, the former Sheffield Silver Co. of Norton, and other area companies.
He was most recently employed by Longmeadow of Taunton.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, Mr. Silveira leaves three sons, Steven Silveira and his wife Sandra of Oviedo, FL, Mark Silveira and his wife Kellie of Taunton, and Dennis Silveira of Taunton; a brother, Luis F. Silveira of Taunton; two sisters, Maria A. Silveira, and Teresinha J. Silveira, both of both Taunton; his aunt, Maria A. Correia of Taunton; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Jose F. Silveira.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Sept. 20th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday Sept 19th from 5 to 8 p.m.
