WORCESTER-Nella G. (Graves) Holmberg, 87 formerly of 7 Ivy St. died Monday, February 23rd in Radius Healthcare of Millbury. Her husband, Gustaf A. Holmberg died in 1999. She leaves a son, William G. Holmberg of Warren; 2 daughters, Patricia Fahlbeck of Rutland and Judi Nichols of Millbury; a brother, John Graves of Bangor, ME; a sister, Mary Heath of Milo, ME; 5 grandchildren, Kristina Jackson of Millbury, Scott Fahlbeck of Gardner, Mark Fahlbeck of Boston, Lauren Holmberg and James Holmberg both of Warren. and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Clouse and a sister, Phoebe predeceased her.
She was born in Brownville Junction, ME the daughter of Gordon and Mary (Appleby) Graves and lived in Worcester for most of her life. She graduated from Brownville Junction High School. Mrs. Holmberg was a sales clerk for 7 years at Filene's and then Denholms Department Store retiring in 1950. She was a volunteer with The American Red Cross and was a leader in the Brownies and was involved with the campfire girls.
The Funeral Service will be Friday, February 27th at 10:00 AM in Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins St. There are no calling hours. After cremation, burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St. is directing arrangements.
