Obituary

Worcester – John A. “Jack” Halloran, 66, of Worcester and formerly of Leicester passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 15th.

Jack leaves his son and daughter-in-law Sean P. and Kerri A. Halloran; his grandsons Joseph C. and Matthew C. Halloran whom he adored all of Paxton; his former wife Sherry P. (Hill) Halloran of West Boylston and a brother William J. Halloran III of Texas.

Mr. Halloran was born in Worcester, son of the late William J. Halloran Jr. and Marie E. (Brady) Halloran. He was educated at Saint John’s High School, Worcester State University and Clark University. He enjoyed a long career in the insurance industry, retiring in 2002 as Claims Manager of the Worcester Office of the Hanover Insurance Company. He was a member of the Worcester Rotary Club and a past president of the Worcester County Claims Adjusters Association.

Jack was a longtime member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks and a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church. Jack was an avid fan of New England Sports and he especially enjoyed watching his son coach high school basketball (often giving advice).

The funeral will be on Wednesday, September 21st from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street with a Mass at 10 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church 555 Pleasant St. Burial will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are on Tuesday, September 20th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bishop George E. Rueger Scholarship Fund c/o Diocese of Worcester Adopt A Student Program 49 Elm Street Worcester, MA 01609.
