TEWKSBURY - Mary V. (Oliver) Brennan, 84, a member of one of the founding families of St.Dorothy’s Church in Wilmington, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 23, at the Winchester Hospital aftera brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Paul W. Brennan, with whom she celebrated a 60thwedding anniversary this past Sept. 18th.
She was born in Mattapan, Dec. 18, 1919, a daughter of the late Guy and Agnes (Devine) Oliver. She was raised in Brookline, and graduated Notre Dame Academy in Roxbury. She had residedin Tewksbury since 1949.
She had been an active communicant of St. Dorothy’s Church in Wilmington since its inception, aEucharistic minister and was a member of the St. Dorothy’s Sodality.
She was the loving mother of eight daughters and their spouses, Mary Alpert of Chelmsford,Paula and her husband Michael Dolan of Tewksbury, Jean and her husband Barry Allen of No.Reading, Patricia and her husband William Toye of Danvers, Dorothy and her husband DennisAudette of Tewksbury, Frances and her husband Gregory McCulty of Rochester, NY, Agnes andher husband Michael Ciarletta of Chelmsford, Julie and her husband Robert Abrahamson of So.Carolina. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and James Lagrotteria of Cohasset; three brothersand two sisters-in-law, Thomas and his wife Phyllis Oliver of Sarasota, FL, Rev. Msg. (R) JohnOliver of Yuma, AZ, Gerard and his wife Bernadette Oliver of Yuma, AZ; 16 grandchildren; and3 great grandchildren.
Her Funeral Mass was held Friday, Feb. 27, in St. Dorothy’s Church, Wilmington.
