Whitman – Enid L. (Ricketson) Borges 86, a long time resident of Whitman, died Wednesday September 14 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Borges.
Born and raised in Hanson she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Marion (Truelson) Ricketson.
Enid had been a member of the Hanson Grange, was a past Matron of the Whitman Grange, and was active in both the State and National Granges as well. She was a member and past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Whitman VFW Post 697.
Before her retirement she had worked as a Senior Aide for the Whitman Council of Aging.
She is survived by several loving nieces and nephews and many grand nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late Ernest and Forrest Ricketson.
Her funeral service will be held Monday September 19 at 12 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow at 2:15 PM in the Massachusetts VA Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10 AM – 12 PM.
