Mr. Norman Stubbs, Jr., 72, of Cordova, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 in his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 18, in the Joy Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor June Grant and Rev. Royce Honeycutt officiating. Internment will follow in Northam Cemetery Extension.
Norman was born in Bladen County on January 10, 1939 to the late Norman and Ruby Ezzelle Stubbs. He was a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Junior Lee, and a sister Rosa Marie Stubbs.
He is survived by his wife, Eula Carol Stubbs of the home; a son, Johnny Lee of Ellerbe; a stepson, Jamie Blake of Rockingham; six daughters, Gail Sellers of Chadbourn, Joyce Mendez, Theresa Roscoe, Hannah Stubbs, Norma Stubbs, and Katherine Stubbs all of Rockingham; a stepdaughter, Lois Harris of Rockingham; three brothers, Clyde Stubbs of Bladenboro, Buddy Stubbs of Baltimore, MD, Frank Stubbs of Rockingham; five sisters, Peggy McDuffie of Rockingham, Louise Bullard, Alice Stogner, Linda Appleby all of Cordova, Ruby Lee Shaw of Chadbourn; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7-9 at Joy Free Will Baptist Church in Hamlet.
