Frances Belle Polk, age 80, passed away at Shady Acres Convalescent Home on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 following an extended illness. Mrs. Polk was born on October 21,1930 in Montgomery, AL to the late James Eugene and Thelma Elizabeth Rackley Pritchett. She was preceded in death by a daughter: April Lucetta Polk. Mrs. Polk was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in Lone Hill Church Cemetery. Survivors include: husband: Joe Polk, Sr., Douglas, GA; daughter: Charmine Polk, Bogart, GA; sons: Joe (Cheryl) Polk, Jr. and James Matthew (Lynn) Polk both of Douglas, GA; sister: Millie Carson, Tennille, GA; 7 grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
