Salem: Laurie Ann (Sindoni) Capra, 46, of Salem, died peacefully Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
She was born in Salem, January 20, 1965 to Stephen J. and Elaine M. (Hines) Sindoni. Laurie was educated in Salem schools, graduating from Salem High School in 1983. She earned and bachelor’s degree from Salem State College in 1988.
Laurie was the loving wife of William L. Capra whom she married July 8, 1995 and the devoted mother of Cristina and Nicholas Capra, both students at Collins Middle School. She lived for her children, cheered them on in academics and sports, and fought her cancer to be here for them.
Laurie worked in the travel and medical technology fields and was most recently employed as a kindergarten paraprofessional at Witchcraft Heights Elementary School.
In addition to her husband Bill, and her parents Steve and Elaine, who reside in Plant City, FL, she is survived by a brother, John S. Sindoni of Peabody, a sister, Lisa M. Mango and her husband Edward of Orlando, FL, her mother-in-law, Christine Capra of Lake Suzy, FL, a sister-in-law, Terri Landry and her husband Robert of Somerville, her favorite aunt Maureen Hines of Salem, her surrogate aunt, Dr. Nancy Harrington of Salem, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, William Leroy Capra.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass on Saturday, September 17, 2011 in St. James Church, 156 Federal St., Salem at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem. Burial will be private.
