Obituary

Phyllis B. (Flower) Marchand, 86, of Walpole died September 13 in Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of the late Everett F. “Dutchy” Marchand, who died in 1980.
Born in Walpole, March 13, 1925, the daughter of the late James and Mary (McDavitt) Flowers, Mrs. Marchand was a lifelong Walpole resident.
Mrs. Marchand had been a waitress at the Pub 99 in Walpole for 25 years until her retirement at the age of 80. She had previously worked at the Howard Johnson’s Restaurant in Walpole.
Phyllis loved to do crossword puzzles, was an avid Red Sox Fan and enjoyed being with and doing anything with her family.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Goddard of Millis, Norman Marchand of Walpole and Patricia Johnson of Walpole.
She was the mother of the late Barry Marchand.
She is also survived by her brother William Flower of Walpole and 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late James and Francis Flower.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, September 19 from the Ginley Funeral Home 892 Main St. in Walpole at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in South Walpole.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Oncology Department of Brigham & Women’s Hospital, 75 Francis St., Boston, MA 02115.
