Obituary

Frank Mittan, 66, of Bellingham, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the loving husband of 45 years to Judith M. (Wellman) Mittan.

Born in Portland, ME on July 28, 1945, he was a son of the late Guy M. and Dorothy M. (King) Mittan.

Frank grew up in Charlestown and graduated from Charlestown High School, Class of 65. He was a Bellingham resident since 1976.

Before his retirement, Frank worked as a pressman at G.H. Dean in Braintree for 15 years and had formerly worked at RustCraft Greeting Card in Dedham.

Frank was a member of Bethany Community Church in Mendon and the Bellingham Senior Center where he was an avid cribbage player. He was also an avid reader and especially enjoyed military history.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Matthew J. Mittan and his wife Amelia L. of Asheville, NC, his daughter, Kara M. Courtois and her husband Jason C. of Bellingham, his grandchildren, Jarod B., Aaron M., Gage R., Andrew T. and Aurora B. and two brothers, William Shea and his wife Elke of Radcliffe, KY and Edward Mittan and his wife Marilyn of Somerville..

He is also survived by his beloved aunt Betty King of Somerville and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Sunday, September 18 at 3 p.m. at Bethany Community Church, 15 Cape Rd. in Mendon.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway.
