She was 79 years old. Born in Brighton, Massachusetts, on December 14, 1946, Judy was the daughter of the late John Arigo of Watertown and Marion (Davis) Arigo of Boston. She was a longtime resident of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, where she made her home for more than 45 years. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend. She will be remembered for her boundless generosity, her warm and welcoming spirit, her quick wit, and, above all, the extraordinary love and care she extended to those fortunate enough to know her. Judy shared 56 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Dennis Fitzgerald. Together, they built a life centered on family, friendship, and the joy of bringing people together. She is survived by her daughter Dena I. (Fitzgerald) Birmingham and her husband, Brian Birmingham; and her son Loren D. Fitzgerald and his wife, Tara Sayegh Fitzgerald. She was an especially proud and devoted grandmother to Aiden Fitzgerald, Marion Birmingham, Fitzgerald Birmingham, and Malcolm Birmingham. She is also survived by her dear sister, Joan (Arigo) Hall and her husband, Byron, and her nephews, Daniel and Jeffrey Hall, along with many other beloved relatives and dear friends. A dedicated homemaker and a natural caregiver, Judy found great fulfillment in nurturing her family and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Her affection for children was evident throughout her life. For 20 years, she worked as a kindergarten teacher s aide at the Louise Davy Trahan Elementary School in Tewksbury, where her nurturing nature, patience, and genuine love of young children made her a treasured presence. Her devotion to children extended well beyond the classroom, and she held a particularly special place in her heart for her grandchildren, whose lives brought her immeasurable happiness and pride. The heart of her family, Judy possessed a remarkable gift for making others feel loved, welcomed, and cared for. Her home was a gathering place, with an open door and a place at the table for anyone who entered. Throughout the years, she embraced her children s friends as though they were her own, offering warm meals, kindness, laughter, and the comforting sense of belonging that came so naturally to her. Her generosity was never reserved for special occasions; it was simply the way she lived. Judy delighted in bringing family and friends together. She loved hosting holidays, celebrations, summer cookouts, and gatherings around the pool, where the company of those she loved mattered far more than the occasion itself. She enjoyed gardening, attending the theater, traveling throughout the country with family and friends, and going out dancing with Dennis and her friends. An avid Elvis Presley fan, she appreciated good music, good company, and the simple pleasures of a life well lived. Her friendships were equally dear to her. Judy shared a special bond with her beloved group of girlfriends, affectionately known as the  Pineapple Girls, with whom she enjoyed memorable trips to Ogunquit, Maine, evenings out dancing and dining at the Fireside, and other fun-filled adventures. These friendships, filled with laughter, companionship, and shared experiences, were among the many joys of her life. Kindhearted and compassionate, Judy was also a woman of conviction. She took an active interest in her community, spoke passionately about the causes she believed in, and generously supported a number of humanitarian organizations and charitable efforts close to her heart. She believed in helping others and demonstrated that commitment through both her words and her actions. Beneath her gracious and nurturing nature was a spirited woman with a keen sense of humor, a quick wit, and a delightfully feisty streak. Judy was never one to shy away from expressing her opinions or taking charge, and those who knew her well will remember these qualities with tremendous affection and admiration. She brought strength, personality, good humor, and a dynamic presence to every gathering. She will be remembered not only for the love she gave so freely, but for the way she made others feel: welcomed, cherished, and always at home. Her presence will be profoundly missed, and her love will remain a lasting gift to all who knew her. Born in 1954 in Everett, MA, to Catherine (Betty) and Alfred Risteen, Paul called Tewksbury his hometown graduating TMHS in 1972 as class president. Having worked his way through his Bachelors Degree at Suffolk University, Paul was awarded Rockefeller and Kellogg Grants to complete his graduate and post-graduate studies at Middlebury College and Lincoln College, Oxford, England. Paul F.X. Risteen began his professional career as a high school teacher in Merrimack, NH and progressed to Chairman of the English Department and, later, House Principal. Changing to corporate education, he sat as Director of Educational Services for Computervision Corporation in both Massachusetts and Los Angeles. He eventually joined Youth For Understanding in Washington, DC where he was Executive Vice President and Responsible Officer for the State Department's J-1 Visa Program for International Student Exchange. Paul retired at the age of fifty, following a series of debilitating health challenges. Paul is survived by his twin sons Nicholas Moore Risteen, and Nathaniel Moore Risteen. Paul was the brother of A. William Risteen, Kathryn Irwin, Ellen Gould, John Risteen, Mary Burke, Stephen Risteen, Brian Risteen, and Scott Risteen. They and their spouses and children gifted him with great joy and great pride in knowing them. He was the widower of the late Marjorie Ann (Chandler) Hazard, who passed away in 2014 after more than 54 years of marriage. Bill was born on July 28, 1929, in Carmel, NY, son of the late Rowland G. Hazard and the late Johanna K. (Koch) Hazard. He was raised and educated in New Hyde Park, NY and graduated from Sewanhaka Central High School with the Class of 1947. He went on to earn his degree in electrical engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and later completed his master's degree at the University of Connecticut where he was a member of Sigma Xi, the scientific research honor society. Bill devoted his career to underwater acoustics, working in sonar development for naval vessels engaged in submarine detection. He spent more than 35 years as an electrical engineer at the Naval Underwater Systems Center in New London, CT, retiring at 55. He then continued his work for another ten years as a contractor with A&amp;T before fully retiring at 65. Outside of his work, Bill had a lifelong curiosity for genealogy and tracing his family's history, was an avid photographer as a young man, and enjoyed time spent boating. Above all, he will be remembered as a good father, a loving husband, a valued mentor, and a kind and generous man to all who knew him. He is survived by his sons, Robert W. Hazard and his wife, Barbara, of Tewksbury, MA, and John K. Born in Woburn on March 15, 1955, Patty was the daughter of the late Frederick Brown and the late Jean (Carney) Brown. She grew up on Darby Street in Tewksbury, went to the Tewksbury schools, and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School. Soon after high school she married her sweetheart, Robert, on September 14, 1974. The couple made their home in Tewksbury for many years before moving to Pelham about ten years ago. Patty was a devoted homemaker who put her family at the center of everything she did. She loved to travel and take vacations, always with her family, and she enjoyed a trip to the casino. She was a proud fixture in the stands, cheering on her children and later her grandchildren at their school wrestling matches. Above all, her greatest joy was time with her children and grandchildren, who knew her simply as "Nana." A woman of faith, Patty was a parishioner of St. William's Church in Tewksbury for many years and, after moving to Pelham, of St. Patrick Church. Besides her husband, Patty is survived by her two sons, George Donovan and his wife Jennifer of Pelham, NH, and Robert J. He married Sarah (Xiaoling) in 1995 and together they shared a 31-year relationship of love, resilience, devotion, and grandeur. John will be remembered as a creator of what he loved and as Sarah's soulmate. He was fully devoted to his marriage, children, and family. He was the maker of stories and memories a determined seeker of special experiences which he always shared with his family. John s legacy of love and resilience lives on in all those he touched. John also loved traveling internationally and building. He constructed 3.5 houses, including one by hand, that are still loved by families today across Corning-Elmira, NY. He was a project manager, building Corning factories in Poland, Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Japan. To his loved ones, these stand as monuments memorializing his life and passion. He loved camping and fishing and had a passion for music from the 60s and 70s. He was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins and enjoyed his collection and interest in model trains, meeting his friends for lunch. He loved having the Toland family reunion every summer, doing the grilling and playing DJ. He was also a regular customer at TJ Callahan's in Tewksbury. Shirley graduated from Boston College with a degree in nursing. She worked for many years as a nurse at Lowell General Hospital and a nursing instructor at Tewksbury State Hospital. She was the widow of the late John J. Janocha, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage, prior to his passing. The two met while commuting from Lowell to Boston on the train during her college days. He was the love of her life and future husband. She and John married August 27, 1960. They moved to Tewksbury, where they raised their family. They enjoyed spending their summers at their cottage on Great East Lake in Wakefield, NH. Shirley was a woman of faith. Her love for church and her spiritual life were an important part of who she was. She found comfort, strength, and purpose in her faith, and she carried that spirituality with her through life s joys and challenges. Her love for the church reflected the importance she placed on God, family and the values that guided her life. She understood that life is a journey, and her faith gave her the foundation to walk that journey with courage. Shirley is survived by her sons, John A. Janocha of Tewksbury, MA and David and Kerri Janocha of North Berwick, ME; her grandchildren, Steven, Emma, Ingrid, Stephanie, and Karoline; and her great grandchildren, Knox, Axel, Huxen and Sophia. Darrio was born, raised, and educated in Jamaica before coming to the United States in 2010. Darrio was a kind and jovial person, as described by his mother, and his sisters and brothers remember him as charismatic and full of personality. He had a creative spirit and enjoyed many things in life. He loved soccer, both playing and watching, as well as music and cooking. Darrio especially enjoyed anything that allowed him to express his creativity. He worked as a bartender and was known for his outgoing nature and ability to connect with others.  Above all else, Darrio cherished his family. "Teco" McKenzie&lt;br/&gt;Sep 22, 2026</title> </item> <item> <description>Elaine (Chambers) Ordonez, 65, of Clyde, North Carolina, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at her home. Born in Boston on June 9, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Harold J. Chambers and the late Rose M. (Toohey) Chambers. Elaine grew up in Tewksbury and was educated in the Tewksbury schools. As a young adult she moved to Holiday, Florida, before returning to Massachusetts, where she lived in Wilmington and Lawrence. While living in Lawrence, Elaine worked for many years as an administrator with the American Red Cross, where she helped run blood drives. In 2018, Elaine moved to Wonderwood Mountain in Clyde, North Carolina. She lived in many places over the years, but Wonderwood Mountain was truly home to her. She loved showing visiting family and friends the beauty and wildlife of the Smoky Mountains. She loved taking long drives through the country, watching the sunset in Maggie Valley, and visiting Dollywood, where she always kept a yearly pass. She also loved to bake. Above all, Elaine loved animals. She shared her home with several cats and dogs. She also fed the local wildlife, and hummingbirds and other visitors came by her house regularly for something to eat. Her beloved pets have been adopted by family and friends, who will care for them in her memory. Elaine was kind, generous, and truly selfless. She always put others before herself, and she will be remembered as a good and caring person by everyone who knew her. She leaves her brothers, Harold Chambers and his partner, Paula Powers, of Tewksbury, and Kenneth Chambers and his wife, Dianne, of Goffstown, NH. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and many close friends here and on Wonderwood Mountain. She was the sister of the late Rosemary Toscano and her late husband, Richard Toscano, and the late Susan Rheaume. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather directly at church on Saturday, October 17, 2026, for her Funeral Mass, which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dorothy Parish, 11 Harnden Street, Wilmington, MA 01887. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Road, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elaine Ordonez may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at www.t2t.org, or to The Asher House at www.theasherhouse.com.
