In Taunton, July 3, 2011 Dr. William Lewis Glass, age 76 passed away in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. Dr. Glass is survived by his wife Virginia of Lakeville. He was born in Worcester, Ma. To his late parents William E. & Margaret (Quam) Glass. He attended Providence Day School, graduating in 1952, Graduate of Boston University College of Liberal Arts in 1956 and Boston University School of Medicine in 1961. William served in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1969 with rank of Lt. Commander at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Memphis, TN and the Naval Tech Training Center in Pawtucket, R.I. Dr. Glass practiced medicine & Pulmonary in Taunton, both private practice and medical director of the Respiratory Care Department of Morton Hospital & Medical Center. He finished his medical career at Taunton State Hospital in the medical clinic. His interests were; history, especially the Civil War and Navy, antique automobiles, both classics and brass, presently owning a 1913 Oldsmobile, 1953 MGTD & 1931 Model A Ford Roadster. He was a member of Horseless Carriage Club of America, MGT Club of New England and the Model A Club of MA. He is survived by his wife Virginia, his son William, daughters; Lezlie, Carrie and Sarah and his stepson William Jenkinson. His five grandchildren and his sister Cynthia Paige. A graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held at the Bourne National Cemetery in Bourne, Ma. on Friday, July 8th at 11:30am. Arrangements are under the direction of the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton, MA.
