Salvatore Pintone, a long-time Medford resident died peacefully at home in the company of his loving family, Saturday morning. He was 80.

Mr. Pintone was born in Calabria, Italy, the son of the late Giovanni and the late Teresa (Candido) Pintone. He brought his family to the United States and settled in Medford in 1970. He worked as a machinist for many years. Salvatore was devoted to his family, working hard to provide the best for them. Salvatore also enjoyed a strong bond with and devotion to his grandchildren. He kept a beautiful garden and enjoyed good times with his many friends at Café Toscana.

The beloved husband of Adelaide (Palermo) Pintone, Salvatore leaves his devoted children: Franco Pintone and his wife Anna of Peabody and Maria Pintone-Taliaferro of Winchester. He was a loving grandfather to Salvi Pintone, Vinny Pintone, Gabriella Hansen, Valentina Taliaferro and Daniel Taliaferro. He was also a dear brother to Giulia Gennaro of Italy, Maria Lombardo and Giovanna Scrivo, both of Somerville and the late Vincenzo and Giuseppe Pintone.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family Tuesday 4 – 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford and again on Wednesday morning, July 6th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Salvatore's name to the Winchester Hospital Foundation, 611 Main St. Winchester, MA 01890 for the benefit of Emergency Room Patients.
