New Bedford-Ernesto G. Silva age 66 years died April 16th at home with his loved one around him. He was the beloved husband of Ilda (Peixoto) Silva of New Bedford. He was the loved father of Lina DaSilva and her husband Gilly, Ernest Silva of New Bedford, Carlos Silva and his wife Shawna of New Bedford and his son Nelson Silva and his wife Sarah of New Bedford. Ernesto was the brother of Maria Inez Amaral, Avelino Silva, Jose Silva, Cesar Silva and Denis Silva all of New Bedford and the late Maria De Sacrement Amaral. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Silva was a son of the late Ernesto S. and Eufrozina (Enoia) Silva . He was born in São Miguel, Açores and has lived here since 1968. He was a maintenance worker with Chamberlain Mfg. for 24 years. He enjoyed fishing, cruises and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Silva’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-9 P.M.
