Gail A. Connolly, 72 Dateline: Norton, MA Gail A. (Streeter) Connolly, 72, of Norton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday March 10, 2011 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late retired Registrar of Motor Vehicles John T. Connolly, Sr. who died on January 27, 2001. Born in Attleboro, MA on September 25, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Walter S., Sr. and Beatrice (Benion) Streeter. Gail grew up in Attleboro and Mansfield and was educated in Mansfield public schools. She later attended Fisher Junior College in Attleboro for accounting. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Connolly had been employed as a bookkeeper in the accounting department for several area jewelry companies in the Attleboro area, which included working at Sadler Brothers in Attleboro. Gail cherished the times spent in the presence of her loving family, especially with her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She was an avid reader and loved gardening. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, solving crossword puzzles and playing bingo. She had made her home in Norton for the past 40 years and had previously resided in North Attleboro. Mrs. Connolly is survived by her devoted children Peter J. Connolly of Norton, John T. Connolly, Jr. of New Hampshire, Maureen Connolly and Linda Cash both of Oregon and Kathleen Puetz of Washington. She was the dear sister of Walter S. “Jeep” Streeter, Jr. and Michael Streeter both of Florida and Joan Waddie of Harwich. The adoring grandmother of Jessica L. Reardon of Taunton, Justine L. Cunha of Norton and Kayla M. St. Don and Felicia M. Connolly both of Attleboro, she is also survived by her cherished great granddaughter Julia D. Brown of Norton, as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorial services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday March 19th at 10:00 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 47 High St., Mansfield. Burial will be held privately at a later date in the Norton Common Cemetery, Norton. Visiting hours have been omitted and in lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Gail with a donation in her memory to St. John the Evangelist Church 47 High St. Mansfield, MA 02048.
